Our story · About BrainToon

Great books. Brought to life.

We start with the full paper book and spend 1–2 hours studying it before creating a summary. That preparation helps us understand the book’s structure, central ideas, and context—and guides the AI-assisted work that follows.

BrainToon turns those ideas into animated summaries, audio, and memorable lessons. Our mission is to turn screen time into learning time, whether you prefer watching, listening, or reading.

How we create our summaries

Human preparation and review bookend the process. In between, AI helps us turn the source material into lessons you can watch, listen to, or read.

Preparation, clarity, care

Our editorial process

Human preparation comes first. We begin with the full paper book and study it before using AI to help analyze, organize, and explain its ideas.

AI assists with summarization, writing, audio, and visual production. Every summary is personally reviewed by BrainToon’s founder before publication.

A human review before publication

Derek checks each summary for clarity, coherence, and presentation quality.

What we check before publishing

Our editorial review focuses on these six areas.

  • Faithful to the author

Communicate the book’s ideas and keep our explanations distinct from the author’s own claims.

  • Clear explanations

Make the central ideas understandable and easy to follow.

  • Coherent lessons

Check that the explanations fit together and flow naturally.

  • Readable, natural wording

Review readability and how the explanations sound when spoken.

  • Presentation quality

Review how the text, audio, and illustrations work together.

  • Obvious errors

Look for obvious mistakes and inaccurate attribution before publication.

This is editorial quality control rather than exhaustive independent fact-checking of every claim in a book. Summaries condense the original work; readers seeking its full detail and context should consult the book itself.

If you notice an inaccurate explanation or attribution, please contact us.
